There are moments
that open up like a big bang
and you wonder how your skin holds together,
they are too terrible
or too wonderful
for tiny
mostly-water-filled skin-bags like us.
But more often
there is this long, long road that you find yourself on.
You look towards the beginning and the end
and pull your sweater a little closer
and tell yourself it’s a lie.
