the tenth precept

To slander the Buddhas is to break the Tenth Grave Precept. If we underestimate the Dharma of the Buddhas, we slander the Buddhas. If we pretend that the Dharma is only that which still makes a bit of sense to us when our attention is so narrow that we are not even feeling the feet when we walk because we invert attention into the mumble of discursive thinking, then we slander the Buddhas. And if we slander the Buddhas then we underestimate ourselves. The Buddhas realized for themselves that they and all beings are that which Buddhas Wake Up to.
