We then wandered around looking for cool stuff I remembered but that is no longer there:
1. The Acadia Restaurant, a really cool over the top Art Deco restaurant that is now just rented out as a banquet hall (too bad cuz the food was always good and reasonably priced despite the fact that you felt like you were in some Hercule Periot (sp?) novel.
2. The great cafeteria in the Bay store, up high with a view and really good cheap food! Some American chain bought out the food serving for the store and put a bunch of b.s. food court places in the basement. ack!
3. The National Film Board had a store front where you could sit in a pod and watch any film board film FOR FREE.
We still had a great time. We ducked into the Royal York Lobby for a bit to escape the humidity. It is great being a woman of a certain age with a smart phone cuz nobody kicks you out for being homeless! It is a bizarre over the top bling from another century place. Also, the "Ladies" washroom is really nice!
There is construction going on in Union Station. We just got on the subway and headed home. It was a nice day!
