It was the underskirt that really had me freaked out. We found a beautiful material on sale that felt like cascading water and brought to my mind the lushness of 20's fashion.

The trouble was I had no idea how to sew a stretchy material that was essentialy a full circle. So I got brave daughter to do it and she SWORE A LOT. It was the underskirt however so not that big a deal but I still wanted it to be beautiful so I embroidered around the wonky machine stitches and it looks quite nice now. I think. All hemmed and ready for the Tulle overskirt.

My poor daughter is in "fried brain" mode these days with all the training for new job, dealing with New House and wedding arranging, plus it seems she was M.C. ing and bride's maid ing for a zillion weddings besides... So I think this is what she wants, a ribbon waist band. Could not get from her how wide she would like it and so I stopped before sewing it down on the other side. All hand sewn as I have not a clue how to machine sew on ribbon. I think it looks good. I still have a bit of time if she decides it's not what she wants. boo hoo hoo Also, Future Son is taking her to cottage EVERY FREEE WEEKEND which makes sense sort of but still, when are we going to work on the wedding?

Now for the speech I somehow was dumb enough to offer: Tell me what you think. "To quote the wisdom of Vin Diesel, 'This life comes with lots of failures but don't BE a failure.' Wow. To this I can only add, don't be a dick either."

Don't die, don't get divorced and be happy.  The first two are obvious but the last?  Let me know how to do that, I mean be happy. 

But I do think, if any two people can manage being happy they can, and for all the days when they are not, it will help that they love each other, that might even take care of the occasion times when one or both act like real dicks.
