Smelly Pits

This might be from the blog: Naturalliving, but I am not sure. I haven't found it useful lately, but I think I have mined it for all the useful stuff already. I am still not using commercial shampoo. I don't tell people that any more because nobody except for people who have hair loss are interested and assume it is just another aspect of my being odd.
I have been really happy with Burt's Bees deodorant but I can't find it anywhere anymore and lets face it, I can't afford it!
So I found this recipe when I was cleaning up my file and I am going to give it a try. For those of you who are interested it's behind the cut.
Deodorant Recipe
• 1/3 cup Corn Starch
• 1/3 cup Baking Soda
• 10 drops of Antibacterial Essential il (tea tree, lavender or eucalyptus)
• 10 drops of Antifungal Essential Oil (tea tree, peppermint, sandalwood, or eucalyptus)
• 2 tablespoons of Vatamin E Oil
• 3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
Mix everything up in a bowl until it forms a thick paste. Transfer to your storage container and then allow 24 hours to "set up". Use a wide mouth jar and apply with your fingertips.
I have heard that adding a tablespoon of water will make it a consistency closer to the commercial brands.
With all this "natural" stuff I find it trends for a while and then un-trends. I am finding out there is a lot of stuff you really don't need and a lot of stuff that actually works better than the commercial stuff. Hey I will buy bleach if I have to deal with mold but otherwise just baking soda and vinegar for most jobs and water, vinegar and a few drops of dish soap work for most things.
I've been off the shampoo long enough that once a week is fine and in between I put a few drops of lavender oil on my finger tips and rub it in my scalp and then just run water over my hair, it smells fresh and looks shiny. If it does get greasy before the week is up I use cornstarch as a dry shampoo mid week. If you have dark hair try unsweetened cocoa.
Oh and my neti pot! I love that thing, it has cut down the sinus headaches and so the migraines that are related to that aspect of my allergy/migraine scenario!
